Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces Flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 6 ounces Broccoli florets
  • 1 teaspoon of black and white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup Brown rice, cooked
  • 1/4 cup Beef broth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons Olive oil

Directions:

  1. In a wok (or large skillet) over medium heat, sauté the beef until mostly browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir all of the ingredients for the sauce in a measuring cup and add to the pan with beef.
  3. Stir sauce ingredients until thickened, 1-2 minutes. If it gets too thick, add a little more broth.
  4. Add the broccoli to the pan and cook for 2 more minutes, just until broccoli is tender.
  5. Serve the beef and broccoli stir fry over a bed of brown rice. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the dish for added flavor and texture.
  6. Enjoy your homemade beef and broccoli stir fry!

Feel free to toast the sesame seeds lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for a few minutes until golden brown before sprinkling them over the dish.

To batch cook: Scale up the recipe and refrigerate (4-5 days max) or freeze (up to 2 weeks) remaining portions packed with rice. Microwave until hot when ready to eat.
